Having been a band for almost a decade it's impressive to consider Ampere's dedication to DIY ethics and supporting your local punk scene. Guitarist Will Killingsworth is the perfect example – he used to play guitar in Orchid and still continues to run his record label Clean Plate and his Dead Air recording studio where the band record. Like Orchid and Sinaloa, 'Like Shadows' is bursting with intelligent, challenging ideas rooted in revolutionaries and philosophers and is a million miles away from tough guy hardcore. But don't be mistaken – this is vicious, fast and uncompromising. In fact it's so chaotic on stand outs such as 'Escapism Pt. II' and 'Of Nightmare Reality' that only one of the 15 tracks reaches the two minute mark. This one goes for the throat but is clever with it. It's a deadly combination.
