Children Of Bodom - Holiday At Lake Bodom (15 Years Of Wasted Youth)
Released May 21, 2012 via Spinefarm | Rating: 4/5 | By Paul Hagen
Finnish legends Children Of Bodom have been producing their own distinctive brand of bombastic metal for 15 years now and to celebrate this anniversary, the band have decided to release a CD/DVD career retrospective. ‘Holiday At Lake Bodom’ takes in tracks from all their albums, from 1997’s ‘Something Wild’ to last year’s ‘Relentless Reckless Forever.’ Also among the 20 songs are a couple of brand new, cheeky and entertaining covers; the Dropkick Murphys’ ‘I’m Shipping Up To Boston’ and Rick Springfield’s ‘Jessie’s Girl.’ There's also detailed liner notes from the band members. The DVD features the usual backstage and touring footage you'd expect, as well as the video for 'Shovel Knockout'. As an introduction to COB this is a superb place to jump in.
