Lacuna Coil - Dark Adrenaline
Released January 23, 2012 via Century Media | Rating: 4/5 | By Rachel Owen
In this reviewer's opinion, Lacuna Coil's 'Comalies' (2002) and 'Karmacode' (2006) are two of the best melodic goth metal albums of recent times. However, 2009's 'Shallow Life' was one hell of a misstep, lacking the heavy guitar work and smoothing off all the edges that made their previous work so exhilarating. Thankfully, this is a step back in the right direction. While opening first single 'Trip The Darkness' is pretty standard and their cover of R.E.M.'s 'Losing My Religion' is worth skipping, highlights such as 'Kill The Light' and 'End Of Time' show there's plenty of life and energy left in Lacuna Coil. Get this for a dark adrenaline rush.
