Sum 41 - Screaming Bloody Murder
Released March 28, 2011 via Mercury | Rating: 4/5 | By Sarah Angell
Sum 41 have steadily grown up over the years and this album comes as a resolution to that. Still distinctly recognisable by Deryck Whibley's shrill vocals and upbeat choruses, they have a newfound retrospective element. 'Reason To Believe' and the title track mix sobering elements offset by perky tempos and attitude-drenched riffs. The dark lyrical content also makes this a more intriguing listen. 'Time For You To Go' is riddled with rock 'n' roll energy and 'Jessica Kills' has a chorus that takes us back to the days of 'Fat Lip', reminding us that Sum 41 are still the same guys, just with a few more years behind them.
