North Virginian indie rockers Pygmy Lush have been a band since 2005 and 'January Song' is one of the stand out tracks from their third full-length, 'Old Friends', out May 2nd on Lovitt Records.

Formed from members of influential hardcore bands such as Pg.99, Majority Rule, Malady, City Of Caterpillar and Crestfallen, they started out as a mix of noise punk and restrained, acoustic songs, before focusing on the latter entirely from 2008's second album 'Mount Hope'.

The new record continues in this vein, making their current US tour with labelmates Des Ark an intense yet intimate team up. Pygmy Lush have also been asked to support Thursday on a couple of dates in May. For the tour dates, click HERE.

Pygmy Lush's new album recorded in Salem by Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studios (Converge, Cave In, Paint It Black). Also, Eric Kane of Strike Anywhere has joined the band on drums and played on 'Old Friends'.

What do you think of 'January Song'? Looking forward to hearing the album 'Old Friends'?
