GuilFest is this weekend (Friday - Sunday) and the line-up across all the stages is amazing and has plenty of other attractions for all the family too.
Concentrating on the Big Cheese Cave, here are 15 bands that are simply essential to see and exactly why. See you Friday!
1) KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES
Headlining our stage on Friday, expect the Welsh rockers to knock it out of the (Stoke) Park, playing hits from their three albums to date, including last year's massive 'In Gold Blood', as well as likely airings of brand new songs. Solid gold.
2) BLACK SPIDERS
Fuck you Black Spiders! With their raucous rock hitting GuilFest hard on Friday the sons of the North will be taking no prisoners and, if this summer's festival performances are anything to go by, they're sure to be one of the highlights. Get those fingers in the air!
3) DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL
Set to unleash their highly anticipated album, 'Empire Of Light', on September 17th, the Bristol/London metalcore/post-hardcore band are sure to kick ass and take names with an energetic set and a newfound drive and direction. Watch DSHS light up GuilFest with their onslaught!
4) FEED THE RHINO
This Kent metallic hardcore powerhouse unleash their seething second album, 'The Burning Sons', on 16th July and it's clear from their recent live performances and their crushing new record (which receives a 5/5 review in the upcoming issue of BC!) that the 'Rhino are in a full-on charge. Get involved or get out of the fuckin' way!
5) YOUNG GUNS
Topping the bill on the Sunday at the Big Cheese Cave to close GuilFest, Gustav Wood and co. have been on one hell of a role since releasing sophomore album 'Bones' back in February. Get ready for massive melodic rock anthems at their finest from the High Wycombe quintet.
6) FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS
Causing quite a buzz with their mix of steam punk-influenced image and gothic alt-rock tunes, this London five-piece put on quite a performance. Catch them on Sunday and join their 'Militia of the Lost'. For fans of My Chemical Romance and My Passion they're a must-see.
7) ELECTRIC RIVER
Early on the bill on Friday, these Kent punk rockers have massive songs that would make The Gaslight Anthem proud. With a new EP due in September that's sure to propel them to new heights, you'll be hearing a lot more about them so get in early before all your friends love them...
8) SKINDRED
The perfect band to headline the Saturday night on our stage at GuilFest, the Welsh ragga metallers know how to bring the party, with their ripping songs, irrepressible energy and impressive wardrobe decisions. Benji Webbe's boys are going to rip you a new one, in the nicest way possible. Bring it!
9) ROLO TOMASSI
The Sheffield mathcore maulers have proved themselves a relentless and face-melting live prospect with beautiful but deadly frontwoman Eva Spence leading the charge. Having been busy in the studio recording a third album this summer, expected to be released around October, expect some new noise on Saturday night.
10) YASHIN
Scotland's most exciting export since Biffy Clyro (although sonically worlds away), this young post-hardcore six-piece unleashed their aptly titled second album 'We Created A Monster' in June. That monster seems pretty damn unstoppable so witness the carnage unfold on Sunday.
11) TRC
The notorious, metal-infused hardcore band don't take prisoners so watch them go straight for the throat on Saturday with their bludgeoning, unapologetic onslaught. With song titles like 'Go Hard Or Go Home' and 'H.A.T.E.R.S.', this is the sound of the mean streets of London invading GuilFest.
12) CROWNS
Cornwall's premier (only?) shanty/folk punks, Crowns are going from strength to strength, with tours with The King Blues and Sharks under their belts. Watch why they could well be a band that makes 2012 their own on Saturday. New rock royalty?
13) POLAR
Big beats, strong booze, loose morals, good times. It's the mantra that Guildford's own hardcore punks live by and this hometown festival performance is sure to see them party hard and blow you away on Friday with songs from the blistering debut 'Iron Lungs'.
14) LOSTALONE
Fans of epic rock simply can't miss the massive sounding, black-clad LostAlone. Winning hearts and minds with the mighty second album 'I'm A UFO In This City' this year, the Derby trio are making waves and need to be heard by fans of 30 Seconds To Mars, Muse and My Chemical Romance.
15) PINT SHOT RIOT
The Coventry indie punks have influences as wide-ranging as Led Zeppelin and Oasis so it's not surprising that their eclectic sound draws on a lot of different elements of rock to make a melodic and anthemic sound, custom built for festival stages. I predict a 'Riot on Friday.
