Mastodon are in the studio recording the follow-up to 'Crack The Skye'.

The band is currently recording at Doppler Studios in their hometown of Atlanta with producer Mike Elizondo. Drum tracks have been previously completed in Los Angeles at the legendary Sound City Studios where Nirvana’s masterwork 'Nevermind' was recorded.

Mastodon can also now confirm a pair of new songs - 'Blasteroids' and 'All The Heavy Lifting' will be featured on the new disc which will be release later this year.

In addition, they have confirmed that their version of ZZ Top’s 'Just Got Paid' will be included on the original soundtrack for “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon” soundtrack. This sought-after Mastodon rarity has only been available as a limited edition color vinyl 7” single released this past Record Store Day. The soundtrack album will be release on June 14th.

Mastodon play Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth on July 10th.
