Two of the three Download headliners have been announced for next June (8th to 10th).
2012 will be Download's ten year anniversary and, if the headliners are anything to go by, they have some pretty impressive tricks up their sleeves.
Metallica were the first headliner to be confirmed for the festival at Donington Park, headlining the Saturday 9th June.
The band will perform their classic 'The Black Album' in its entirety to coincide with its 21st anniversary.
Metallica last performed at Download in 2006.
Drummer Lars Ulrich commented, "In hard rock history, there's no more sacred place to play than Donington [Park]. It's the coolest."
A reformed original line-up Black Sabbath, have also been announced as the second headliner for Download 2012.
The band last played at Donington in 2005, headlining the Ozzfest, and will close out Download 2012 on the Sunday 10th June, before embarking on a world tour.
Ahead of their Download headline show they will record their first new album with the original line-up for 33 years with producer Rick Rubin (Metallica, Slayer, Johnny Cash).
